Melissa Sarris Kauttu, Senior Partner

Joins the firm from the Office of the State Attorney. Mrs. Kauttu  served the St. Johns County State Attorney’s office in the capacity of an Assistant State Attorney prosecuting many different crimes including DUIs and Drug Offenses, Property Theft Crimes, Agency Crimes, and Violent Crimes. Prior to her service with the local State Attorney’s Office, Mrs. Kauttu practiced for 12 years in California, where she served clients in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate, Commercial Transactions and Litigation and other general civil practice areas.

She attended University of Florida and Houston Baptist University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree from HBU in 1986.  She graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law, where she received an American Jurisprudence Award. She was admitted to the California Bar in 1990 and is currently on inactive status in that state. In 2001, she and her family returned to her hometown of St. Augustine. She is currently an active member of the Florida Bar and brings a wealth of experience in both criminal and civil practice to the Firm.
